This week I delivered a webinar 💻 on self compassion and self acceptance.

Here’s how I described it, in the context of health, our struggles in life and our relationship with ourselves:

📌 Self Acceptance - (comes in two parts):

☝🏻 One is acceptance of our current reality. Accepting where we are, what our situation is, what state our body may be in, and what we may be dealing with.

Acceptance of what IS (and to stop resisting reality!!) moves us out of blame, shame, negative or victimised thinking and a backwards focused mindset.

☝🏻 The other part of acceptance is acceptance of self.
Embracing our individuality; our uniqueness, and understanding that we are perfectly
imperfect just the way we are.

Acceptance of self removes comparison to others, and reclaims our power back to ourselves.

📌 Self Compassion:

☝🏻 Imagine that you are a plant 🪴 that hasn’t been watered in weeks. You feel limp, lifeless and dry. Self compassion is the water that brings you back to life.

When we practice self compassion by way of positive thinking, forgiveness, gratitude, praise and simply just holding ourselves with understanding, we slowly nurture our potential back.
Self compassion is ESSENTIAL for growth.

I teach these things in my health coaching to help people rebuild the bridges back towards themselves. A better relationship with self ultimately and always leads to better choices.

As we head into the long weekend….

Remember that every time you say “I’ll start on Monday” you’re also saying “you don’t matter enough today” 💣.

Love yourself enough to make every day a self care day.

Small actions - protein , water, movement … send very powerful messages that you value and respect your body.

I’ll never forget my turning point.

The exact moment when I knew that the universe was asking me to go left, when everything I had ever known was right.

I felt a burning in my body, a trembling of energy, and an avalanche in my chest.

It would have been so much easier to give in.
To give up.
To play small.
To hand over all control to the system and to everyone else and to just accept that this is how it was going to be.

But here’s the incredible thing about the human body.… when the mind 🧠 is not listening:

The physical symptoms you experience - the pain, the discomfort, the whispers that become screams….
They are your messenger signals.

I knew in my gut and in my heart of hearts that an incredible, happy, healthy, joyful life was our destiny - and not the cards that we were getting dealt. 💫

But I had to move.

I had to go left.

I had to trust; and believe, and back myself, and hold on to that deep sense of knowing that was driving me to fight for something greater than myself 💕.

Any journey worth taking is going to ask you to put yourself on your priority list, and stop playing small.

So….. I leaned in.

And I did.

And I never, ever, ever looked back. 💕💫🔥🔥

Trust your intuition, it knows.
